As another successful show season comes to a close, Viscount is taking the time to reflect on ASIS our most recent show in Anaheim, Calif., the themes of this year’s conference and what we think the upcoming access control trends for 2016 will look like.

Every year, more than 20,000 attendees from all over the world pay a visit in search for the newest, most innovative solutions that will take on security’s toughest challenges today as well as tomorrow. This year’s presentations and educational seminars focused on the recent data breaches and the importance of cyber security initiatives for multiple vertical markets and security applications moving forward. The concept of interoperability also featured heavily in the dialogue amongst partners at the show, and highlights the need for increased integration opportunities.

At the Viscount booth our team met with a number of potential customers, media and security professionals to showcase Freedom, an IT-centric access control platform that integrates physical and logical access control applications as a unified security solution.

Our attendance this year marks a pivotal shift in brand identity and recognition. Viscount recently appointed CEO Scott Sieracki to drive sales of Viscount access control solutions in the commercial sphere and steer the company toward a path of continued growth. “We’re bringing margin back to the integrators,” said Sieracki of Freedom, which is the first panel-free, IT-centric access control and identity management solution to achieve U.S. Federal Government FICAM / PIV compliance and serves as the launch platform for commercial applications.

To celebrate our venture in a bold new direction, Viscount co-hosted the Cool Partners Reception with We Suite, ASSA ABLOY and the recently re-launched Qognify (formerly NICE) at Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney, where over 150 guests joined us for food, drinks and lively conversation.

Our takeaway from this year moving into 2016 is that cyber security will continue to be a challenge for video surveillance, access control, incident management and analytics providers, and that Viscount is well positioned to lead the way by building software solutions that treat physical, logical, and cyber security threats holistically.
